 Municipal Court Overview

The Municipal Court of the City of Kearney is a subdivision of the 7th Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Missouri, and acts as the Court of original jurisdiction in all cases involving violations against the ordinances of the City of Kearney, Missouri.

Municipal Court Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Payments: Payments may be made in person by cash, check, money orders, cashierís checks or debit/credit cards and there is a 2.5% processing fee when using a debit/credit card.

Payment can also be made online at www.TrafficPayment.com. Additional service fees will be service fees charged by TrafficPayment.com. You may not pay warrants or past due tickets online. Online payment service is available 24/7.

Docket Times:
Time to Pay Docket: 7:15 p.m. (effective July 1, 2016 6:15 p.m.)
Traffic/Summons Docket: 7:30 p.m. (effective July 1, 2016 6:30 p.m.)

Traffic Citations, Continuances and Warrants: The Traffic/Summons Docket is at 7:30 p.m. (effective July 1, 2016 6:30 p.m.) You must appear on the date listed on your summons. Failure to appear on your court date or pay a fine as ordered may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest and your driverís license being suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Court Clerk is not allowed to grant continuances, only the Municipal Judge or Prosecutor may continue a defendantís case. Attorneys only may have up to two plea docket continuances.
