The City of Kearney participates in the Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program, a service coordinated by the MARC Solid Waste Management District.  City residents have year-round access to the safe disposal of unwanted products such as paint, household cleaners, lawn/garden chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, and florescent bulbs. (Business waste is not accepted.)

Kearney residents are welcome to take their household hazardous waste items to any of the region's annual mobile collection events, or to either of the two permanent collection facilities in Kansas City or Lee's Summit.
